The library-museum team, under the direction of its curator-archivist, is responsible for the preservation and promotion of the exceptional heritage of the House of Molière.

Historical tours

All of the Comédie-Française’s areas have their own history. The torch having been passed on for over three centuries, the house has gathered an exceptional collection of pictures and sculptures depicting the Comédie-Française’s authors, actors, or daily life. Discover this unique collection at the Salle-Richelieu with guided tours about the history and innerworkings of the Troupe from 1680 to our current time.

  • If you are in a wheelchair, to facilitate your visit, please contact the theatre at the following address: accessibilite@comedie-francaise.org
  • Contrary to productions, it is not necessary to arrive 45 minutes in advance for guided tours. As the doors only open at 11 am, visitors must arrive on time, with their tickets and proof of eligibility for reductions. The proof of eligibility must be presented to the guide along with the tickets.
  • No duplicates or exchange of tickets is possible.
  • The tour begins under the peristyle of the Comédie-Française, next to the ticket desk.
  • Visitors may not leave the visit before the end.
  • Photography is prohibited during the visit.

For the second season running, the Comédie-Française is proposing visits of the Salle Richelieu conducted by a deaf actor, Alexis Dussaix, in collaboration with Accès Culture.

En raison du renforcement des mesures de sécurité dans le cadre du plan Vigipirate « Urgence attentat », nous vous demandons de vous présenter 30 minutes avant le début de la représentation afin de faciliter le contrôle.

Nous vous rappelons également qu’un seul sac (de type sac à main, petit sac à dos) par personne est admis dans l’enceinte des trois théâtres de la Comédie-Française. Tout spectateur se présentant muni d’autres sacs (sac de courses, bagage) ou objets encombrants, se verra interdire l’entrée des bâtiments.
