The Comédie-Française and the town of Trappes are linked by a cultural twinning supported by the prefecture of the Île-de-France region since 2022. By building together — cultural institution and municipality — specific activities in Trappes and in Paris, the aim is to encourage audiences to become active participants in culture themselves. The teams collaborate actively with partners from the national education system and the medical and social care sector in Trappes to forge lasting ties with the people of Trappes, in particular young people aged 16 to 30 who have dropped out of education or are in professional integration programmes. In addition to free seats offered for several productions, residents of Trappes take part in visits, professional encounters around careers in culture, and acting workshops in Trappes and in Paris.
