Contest
The Comédie-Française is launching the sixth edition of the competition Les jeunes rendent hommage à Molière, open to primary school, lower secondary (collège), and upper secondary classes — general, technical, vocational and agricultural — in France and abroad.
L’hommage à Molière is celebrated at the Comédie-Française every 15 January, the date of the playwright's baptism. At the end of the performance, the actors and actresses of the Troupe gather on the stage of the Salle Richelieu and take turns sharing a line by Molière — in verse or prose — with the audience.

Registration
by 19 December 2026.Teachers register their classes or groups before 19 December 2026 via ADAGE. Institutions without access to ADAGE may write to moliere2027@comedie-francaise.org
Choosing quotations
Each pupil chooses one or two lines by Molière, in verse or prose, and learns them by heart to make them their own.
Staging and voicing
The next step is to bring all the quotations to life through voice and space. Each participant recites their quotation in turn within a shared staging. The chosen venue might be the classroom, the school courtyard, the library, the canteen, and so on. The group may be seated, standing, on tables... A dress code may or may not be decided upon.
And where does Molière come in?
Molière must appear — large, small, miniature, as a watermark, a drawing, a papier-mâché figure... it is his tribute after all!Video recording
by 14 March 2027Each tribute to Molière is filmed in a format of approximately ten minutes using a smartphone or camera. It is sent in MP4 format to moliere2027@comedie-francaise.org before 14 March 2027, with the name of the school and the class included in the video title.
Jury
A jury will be composed of members of the Troupe, administrative staff of the Comédie-Française, and representatives from the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Food Sovereignty. It will convene in April 2027 to select one tribute per category (primary school, lower secondary, general upper secondary, technical, vocational and agricultural upper secondary).
Particular attention will be paid to the group's commitment to the project and to the originality of the vocal and spatial staging.
Prizes
The classes whose tributes are selected will be rewarded by the jury in June 2027. The prize-winning tributes will be shared on the Comédie-Française's social media channels.
