Since its creation in 1680, the Comédie-Française has always participated in the dialogue of the arts, whether on its stages or in the links it has forged with other disciplines. The public is invited to attend three debates that successively deal with the links between theatre and painting, theatre and the body, and theatre and cinema. In the course of these meetings organised and moderated by Agathe Sanjuan, curator-archivist of the Comédie-Française, practitioners and theorists from several disciplines will draw on aesthetic, philosophical, historical or economic thinking to provide perspective these correspondences at the heart of live performance.

À l’occasion de la création de L’Autre par Françoise Gillard, spectacle dansé par les Comédiens-Français qui appelle au décloisonnement des arts, ce débat met en perspective la place du corps dans l’histoire du théâtre. Des conventions classiques et de ses détournements jusqu’à l’idéal du spectacle total à la fin du XIXe et au théâtre « post-dramatique » au XXe siècle, c’est avec Diderot, Appia, Artaud, mais aussi Beckett ou encore en évoquant la présence fantasmagorique de corps absents chez le metteur en scène Denis Marleau, que théoriciens et praticiens aborderont cette thématique.

- Martial Poirson, professeur à l’université Paris VIII, spécialiste d’histoire et d’esthétique théâtrales.
